Under the supervision of the Branch President, the Branch Controller is responsible for all the financial operations of a single Sharp Business Systems branch. These duties include all administrative functions, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting. The Controller will be responsible for all order to cash functions including billing, collections, inventory management, and branch facilities. This position will supervise and review all branch journal entries, reconciliations and provide timely analysis of general ledger accounts. In addition, this position will identify ways to strengthen internal controls and asset management. The Branch Controller will oversee all financial and operational positions within the branch including, A/R clerks, Meter Readers, Lease Administrators, Order Processors, inventory management and general accounting positions.
Primary Responsibilities
Responsible for the timely and accurate billing of Branch business including both equipment and aftermarket business
Insuring the billing process adheres to the corporate policy regarding revenue recognition
Responsible for the management and security of branch assets as set forth in accounting policy
Responsible for management of operations towards achieving operational benchmarks set forth by SBS Division management
Service as financial advisor to Branch President to help achieve growth and Profit initiatives
Responsible for the preparation of profitability analysis of the branch location
Coordinate, implement and present annual and long-range financial plans in accordance with Sharp guidelines (AOP, LE, and LRP).
Develop financial plans to support operational and strategic decisions at the branch level
Perform monthly budget variance analysis and discuss with departmental managers.
Ensure both U.S. and Japanese financial reporting (external) requirements are met.
Ensure compliance with Sharp accounting and reporting requirements.
Responsible for capital, fixed asset and management based reporting for branch location.
Manage all facets of monthly, quarterly and fiscal year-end financial close processes.
Oversee account analysis and reconciliation process, ensuring all balance sheet accounts are reconciled timely.
Administer internal and external audit requirements.
Serve as key accounting and business resources for Sharp Organization.
Cost center accounting.
Supervise branch Operations and Finance Staff.
Develop staff and ensure employee Mid-year and Year-end Performance Evaluations are completed within the required timeframe established by Human Resources.
Position Specifications
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA or MBA preferred
7-10 years experience of related work experience.
Strong PC skills in Windows based environment. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and SAP.
Strong interpersonal, analytical and leadership skills required.
Possess general business knowledge and understanding of current businesses practices and trends.
